Net Zero by 2050

Our objective is to be a diversified net zero emissions energy company by 2050, or sooner, in support of the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative. 

We will lead by example, bringing together energy, technology and finance leaders to create a realistic and practical pathway to net zero by 2050.

Becoming a net-zero by 2050 energy business means reducing our Scope 1 emissions, which come directly from our operations, and our Scope 2 emissions from the energy we buy to run operations under our operational control. It also means capturing and storing any remaining emissions.

Our Net Zero by 2050 ambition is underpinned by a determined focus on:

  • Key decarbonization levers of energy efficiency and operational excellence across the value chain.
  • Large scale implementation of CCUS.
  • The use of renewable energy sources, including solar and nuclear, to power our offshore and onshore operations.
